If you are planning on travelling on the M42 to the NEC please note that there is a full closure in place between Junction 6 and 7a (Northbound) and Junction 7 and 6 (southbound) from 9pm on Friday 11 August until 5am on Monday 14 August.
A signed diversion will be in place for road users. Please follow TfWM’s travel advice before travelling.
• Plan ahead and leave more time for your journey: If you travel in or around the M42 junctions 6 and 7a you will need to allow more time for your journey as diversions will be in place which may take longer than your usual journey.
• If you travel on or through the M42, please consider an alternative route.
• If travelling from the North, Southbound traffic can exit at Junction 9 and travel southbound on the A446 to M6 Junction 4 Island, take the second exit to continue southbound on the A446/A452 to Stonebridge Island, take the third exit onto the A45 westbound and re join the M42 at Junction 6. Familiarise yourself with the diversion routes in place before you travel.
• If travelling from the South, northbound traffic will see increased delays at junction 6 due to the closure please allow more time for your journey.
