Exhibitor FAQs

  • Exhibitor FAQs
    • Do you provide a stand building service?

While we don’t offer the service ourselves, we highly recommend our friends over at ESSA. Trusted, reliable and friendly to boot, you can find out more at essa.uk.com

    • Are trollies, pump trucks and porters available?

We don’t currently provide or offer for hire trollies, pump trucks or porters, but you’re very welcome to bring your own. Every event we host does however have a nominated lifting contractor who’ll deliver materials to your stand in double-quick time. Ask your organiser for details.

    • Are children permitted in halls during build/breakdown?

Sorry, but as our halls are busy working environments we don’t allow anyone under the age of 16 in the halls during build and breakdown.

    • Can I store my empty packing cases?

In the interests of safety we’re unable to provide our own storage facilities at the NEC, however the lifting contractor at your event will be able to help you out. You’ll find all the details in the Exhibitor Manual your organiser provided.

    • Is there somewhere to wash my paintbrushes?

Absolutely. Every hall has a painters’ cupboard with a water supply and large sink available during build and breakdown. We’re sure you’ll keep it clean, but in the event of a spillage simply let our security team know and they’ll get it cleaned up. Please note, we don’t permit exhibitors to connect hoses to these sinks.

    • Where can I obtain plastic bin bags?

Simply contact your organiser and they’ll let us know you need some bags, which we’ll then deliver straight to your stand.

    • What happens if I have a spillage or breakage?

We’ve all done it, so don’t worry. Just ask your organiser to arrange for our cleaning team to visit your stand.

    • What’s available at the lorry parks?

You’ll find toilet blocks in the lorry parks at North 12 and South 2, with fresh drinking water available on tap to keep you refreshed. If you’re looking to fuel up on food, you’ll find a host of dining options inside the main buildings.

    • Do you provide Wi-Fi access?

We understand the need to stay connected, which is why we provide free visitor Wi-Fi across the NEC - no code required. For exhibitors we also recommend a hard wired connection as an integral part of your stand.

    • What are my parking options?

For all the information you could ever need on charges, passes and opening times, simply head to our Exhibitor Parking page.

    • Can I leave my commercial vehicle overnight?

Please speak with our traffic team when you arrive at the NEC, it may be possible to leave your commercial vehicle overnight, although not for every show. Please be aware spaces are limited and subject to availability. Unfortunately, overnight sleeping in commercial vehicles is not permitted, however you can find a host of hotels right on your doorstep.

    • Is on-site transport available?

We operate a free shuttle bus service between all car parks and halls during exhibitions. These usually start running one hour before the event and stop one hour after the event. This means buses might not be running for your build and breakdown but may be running for other shows that are open.

    • Where can I find a petrol station?

Low on fuel? Fear not, the nearest petrol station is on the A45 next to the Arden Hotel. Download our site map for details.

    • Where are the nearest hotels to NEC?

From luxury resorts to simple rooms to please, you’ll find a host of hotels right on our doorstep. Head to our Visitors page to view your nearest options.

    • Do you have a lost property area?

It happens to us all, so if you’ve lost something at the NEC head to our Security Office at either the Piazza or Atrium and we’ll do our best to help. Alternatively, call our Lost Property Department on 0121 767 3883.
