There are roadworks and rail strikes which may affect your journey if travelling to the NEC by car or train in the coming months.
Arriving by Car
For those arriving by car, please note the M42 Southbound Junction 6 Eastway Slip Road will be closed from 27th November to 7th January as part of the junction’s upgrade scheme. We would encourage visitors travelling to events during this period to allow extra time for their journey.
All traffic from M42 in both directions will need to access site via Junction 6 and the Southway and delays may be experienced at peak times.
For visitors travelling on the M6 Northbound, please leave at Junction 4 and follow the signs to enter the NEC via Northway.
Please note, the Eastway outbound route will also be closed at Pendigo Way. Delays may be experienced leaving site at peak times.
Arriving by Train
If you are planning to travel by train during 1st-9th December please be aware that there is planned industrial action by ASLEF during this time and an overtime ban in place. See suggested guidance on NEC event days below.
If your route is affected, you may wish to travel via car to the NEC Campus. You can book your parking in advance at a discounted rate with this link.
1st December and 2nd December
Please be aware that due to an overtime ban in place rail services may be subject to alterations or last minute cancellations. Please go to National Rail for further information.
3rd December
Please be aware that there will be no services on West Midlands Railway, London Northwestern Railway, Avanti West Coast and Chiltern Railways.
Cross Country and Transport for Wales will be operating but we expect these services to be busier than usual. You may want to consider travelling by bus. Please see further details below.
Please check your journey in advance for the latest timetable information at National Rail.
